Meeting new people is lovely. Here are a few things to do it with peace of mind.
Look after your personal details.
Don't share your address, your workplace, your bank details or your ID number with someone you've just met.
Never send money.
If a match asks you for money, gifts or to invest in something, whatever the story is: it's a scam. Report them and block them.
First date in a public place.
Pick a busy place, get there and back on your own, and tell someone you trust where you'll be and who with.
Trust your instinct.
If something makes you uncomfortable on the call or in the chat, you can end the conversation at any time. You owe nobody an explanation.
If something isn't right, report it.
