1. Who we are and acceptance

Mate & Meet is a project created and run by a team of four people in Argentina ("we" or "us"). We operate the website https://mateandmeet.com/ and the related products and services that refer to these terms (together, "the Services").

These Terms and Conditions are an agreement between you and us about accessing and using the Services. By creating an account or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.

The Services are only for people aged 18 or over. People under 18 may not sign up or use them.

2. Our services

Mate & Meet is a web service for meeting people over video calls. When you start a round, we connect you with one person at a time for a three-minute chat. After each call you say whether you'd like to talk to that person again. If you both liked each other, it's a match: a chat opens between you, and you can also call each other again from there.

We help people get in touch, but we don't guarantee that you will get matches, nor the outcome of any relationship that comes out of the Services.

The Services are not meant to be used in countries where their use is against local law. People who access them from other countries do so by their own choice and are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to them.

3. User requirements and statements

By using the Services, you state that:

• You are 18 or older and legally able to accept these terms.
• All the information you provide when signing up is true, accurate and current, and you will keep it up to date.
• You will have only one account, which is personal and non-transferable.
• You will not access the Services through bots, scripts or other automated means.
• You will not use the Services for illegal or unauthorized purposes, or in a way that breaks any law or regulation.
• You have not previously been suspended or banned from the Services.

If the information you provide is false, inaccurate or out of date, we may suspend or close your account. We may ask you to verify your identity or your age at any time.

4. Sign-up and account

You need to sign up to use the Services. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done from your account. If you suspect someone else has accessed it, let us know right away.

We may ask you to change your username, or change it ourselves, if it is offensive, misleading or impersonates someone else.

5. How rounds work

• A round starts whenever you want and lasts as long as you like: we keep connecting you with one person after another until you decide to end it.
• We connect you with people who match what you said in your profile about who you want to meet, and who in turn want to meet someone like you. We never connect you again with someone you've already talked to or blocked. You can't choose who you get.
• Each call lasts three minutes and ends on its own. It can't be extended, but you can hang up earlier if something doesn't feel right.
• After each call you choose "I liked them" or "Pass". There is only a match if both people choose "I liked them", and nobody ever finds out that you chose "Pass".
• If you keep hanging up on calls for no reason, or use rounds to bother other people, we may limit your access.

6. Prohibited activities

You may only use the Services for what they're for: meeting people. You may not use them for commercial purposes unless we expressly allow it. In particular, you may not:

• Record, screenshot or share another person's audio, video or messages without their consent.
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, insult or discriminate against anyone, including our team.
• Show nudity or sexually explicit content.
• Ask for or send money.
• Advertise or offer products or services.
• Pretend to be someone else or use someone else's username.
• Use information obtained through the Services to harass, abuse or harm anyone.
• Deceive other users, especially to get their passwords or other account information.
• Make false reports of abuse or misconduct.

With the platform

• Sell or transfer your profile.
• Systematically extract data to build databases or directories, including collecting usernames or emails to send spam.
• Use bots, scrapers, scripts or other automated systems to access or interact with the Services.
• Create accounts by automated means or with fake identities.
• Bypass or disable security features or access restrictions.
• Upload viruses or other malicious code, or send spam.
• Interfere with how the Services work or overload their servers.
• Copy, decompile or reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it.
• Use the Services to compete with us.

7. Safety, reports and blocking

You can hang up, block or report anyone at any time. We review every report and may take action such as warnings, suspensions or permanently closing accounts, and report to the authorities when appropriate.

We don't run background checks on users. You are responsible for your interactions with other people, both on and off the Services.

8. Intellectual property

We own or are licensed all intellectual property rights in the Services, including the code, databases, design, text, graphics and the Mate & Meet brand. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit any part of the Services without our written permission. To ask for it, write to us at mateandmeetoficial@gmail.com.

9. Your content

"Your content" means everything you upload to the Services: photos, profile text, messages and any other material.

It stays yours

You keep ownership of your content. By uploading it, you grant us a non-exclusive, free and limited license to host it, show it to other users and adapt it technically (for example, cropping a photo) for the sole purpose of operating the Services. This license ends when you delete that content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.

We won't sell your content or use your image or voice in advertising without your express consent.

You're responsible for what you post

By uploading content, you state that:

• It's yours, or you have the permissions needed to use it.
• If other identifiable people appear in it, you have their consent.
• It isn't false or misleading.
• It isn't obscene, violent, defamatory or offensive, and doesn't discriminate on the basis of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other reason.
• It isn't advertising or spam.
• It doesn't violate anyone's privacy or any law.

We may remove content that breaks these terms and, in that case, suspend your account.

Suggestions

If you send us ideas or suggestions to improve the Services, we may use them freely without any obligation to compensate you.

10. Managing the Services

We may, without being obliged to: monitor the Services for breaches of these terms; take legal action or report to the authorities anyone who breaks the law or these terms; restrict or remove content that breaks them; and, in general, manage the Services to protect users and keep them working properly.

11. Privacy and personal data

We process your personal data in accordance with Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law No. 25,326. What data we collect, what we use it for and who we share it with is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

The Services run on infrastructure providers whose servers are in the United States, so your personal data is transferred to and stored outside Argentina. By creating your account and using the Services, you consent to this international transfer, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.

Video calls are not recorded or stored.

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, updating and deletion by writing to mateandmeetoficial@gmail.com. The data subject has the right to access their personal data free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown, as set out in Article 14(3) of Law No. 25,326. The Agency for Access to Public Information, the supervisory authority for Law No. 25,326, is empowered to handle complaints and claims regarding breaches of personal data protection rules.

We make regular backups, but we recommend that you don't rely on the Services as the only place where you keep information that matters to you.

12. Term, suspension and account closure

These terms apply for as long as you use the Services. You can delete your account at any time from the settings.

We may suspend or close your account, and remove your content, if you break these terms or the law, if we receive well-founded reports against you, or if an authority requires it. Except in serious or urgent cases, we will let you know and tell you why.

If we close your account for a breach, you may not create a new one under your name, a fake name or someone else's name.

13. Changes and interruptions

We may change these terms. If the change is significant, we will let you know by email or within the Services at least 15 days in advance. If you don't agree, you can close your account before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after that date, you are considered to accept the new version.

We may also change, suspend or discontinue features of the Services. Interruptions, delays or errors may happen because of technical problems or maintenance. We will do what is reasonable to keep them to a minimum and to warn you in advance when possible.

14. Corrections

The Services may contain typos, inaccuracies or omissions. We may correct them and update the information at any time.

15. Warranties and limitation of liability

The Services are provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee that they will work without interruptions or errors.

We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, on or off the Services, for the content they post, or for damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Argentina's Consumer Protection Law No. 24,240, or our liability in cases where the law does not allow it to be excluded.

16. Indemnity

If a third party makes a claim against us for damage caused by your content, by your breach of these terms, by the violation of third-party rights or by a harmful act of yours against another user, you agree to hold us harmless to the extent of your responsibility. We will let you know if we receive such a claim.

17. Electronic communications

You agree to receive communications electronically, by email or within the Services, and that notices we send you this way are as valid as if they were in writing.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute will be heard by the ordinary courts of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, without prejudice to your right, as a consumer, to go to the courts where you live.

19. General provisions

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the rules we publish on the Services, are the entire agreement between you and us. If we don't exercise a right, that doesn't mean we waive it. If any clause is found invalid, the rest remains in force. This agreement doesn't create any partnership, employment or agency relationship between us.
